Scream 2 Movie Rating, Synopsis, And Review

A sequel directed and written by the same people as the original, and featuring the same actors playing the same roles, is usually a sign that it will be good. No exception here, Scream 2 delivers its promises: more kills, more horror movie parallels and above all another mysterious killer to discover.

The story is nothing less or more than a repetition of the first movie, so there is not much novelty. Still having the Stab “movie inside a movie” is a good idea, and is used pretty cleverly here. It does a good job at reusing the good things from the first movie. The ending, and who the killer is, are both interesting and surprising to discover. Thereee is also plenty of references to other horror movies sequels, an aspect that is for me the highlight of the franchise. The action scenes feel a bit repetitive, but that’s inevitable. As a result, this sequel is also a lot less scary than the original, which is mostly why my rating is lowered, but as good in terms of scenario.

Overall, Scream 2 is not an outstanding sequel, but a great one that suffers from lacks of novelty as compared to the origin
