A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985) Review:
It is always very difficult to make a sequel of an instant cult such as the original A Nightmare on Elm Street, but I think the first two sequels of the franchise (see our review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3) are very good ones, disputably superior to the orignal. The only thing that bugs me in this one is that the authors have modified a bit the rules by which Freddy’s can interact with his victims. Freddy can now interact in the real world via possessing his victim. As a Krueger purist, I did not like it so much, but I confess that it actually results in some really interesting face-off between Krueger and his main victim.
This results is a hit nevertheless. The movie contains a few interesting twists and many cult scenes. In any case, it is always nice to see one sequel that is not just a repetition of the first chapter
