It's no new news that a Platinum Dune remake of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET is in our future but what might come as news is the fact that it may be filming as early as this spring.
In a recent interview PD head honcho Brad Fuller said this:
”We’re hopeful to announce a director in the
next two or three weeks. Once that happens, we’re going to try and move
ahead and start to get that movie going first. I believe that NIGHTMARE
is the next movie
we're shooting and we're hoping to shoot that in April/May in Chicago.”
I imagine is FRIDAY THE 13th hits strong in a few weeks this NIGHTMARE
redo will really get the fast track so keep it here as the news on this
one could start coming fast and furious.
I think what will be most interesting for this project is who they get
to play Freddy and how he ends up looking. Unlike JASON who is just a
big guy in a hockey mask Freddy has a very identifiable look and
attitude and it will be interesting to see if they attempt to
completely redo it or just copy what has worked so far.
