It is with great dismay that I report that actor David Carradine was
found dead in his hotel room in Thailand when he failed to show up for
work on a film he was shooting there. There are conflicting reports
that the maid found him hanging in his room as a result of suicide, but
his agent reports that he died of natural causes. I certainly hope
that it is the latter.
David Carradine was one of my favorite actors in the film industry, and
he played a wide variety of roles in over 200 movies and television
shows for over 40 years. I first recall seeing him in "Kung Fu" when I
was very young, then as Woody Gutherie in BOUND FOR GLORY. I'll never forget him opposite his brother Robert in that crazy barroom
shooting scene in Martin Scorsese's MEAN STREETS.
I met him at several conventions and he was always great to speak with. He was one of those actors who could play anything.
We'll keep you updated as more info detailing his demise come to light.
