BLOOD AND SEX NIGHTMARE.
With a title like that you just know
that you're in for a special treat of a horror film. This one comes
to us from Camp Motion Pictures and Bloody Earth Films and while it
suffers from a lot of the usual indie horror pitfalls it is at
its core a good old fashioned slasher film.
As the film opens we meet Nick. He
asks his beautiful girlfriend Amy to accompany him to a sex retreat.
Apparently his little lady is a little sexually repressed and having
just returned from her fathers funeral is less then thrilled about
Nick's idea of a nice weekend away. After some badgering she
reluctantly agrees and our young couple are off to their special
weekend.
It doesn't take long for them to figure
out that something is very wrong as Amy begins having nightmares and
other folks at the retreat start dying off.
Keep your eye on Walter, the grounds
keeper. An interesting performance to say the least.
One of the first kills is a couple who
are acting out a S & M fantasy. They get disturbed and the man heads
out into woods to chase off the bastard that interrupted his fun. He
is promptly attacked and has his penis severed. Our killer then
proceeds to head on back to the cabin where he chokes the lady to
death with the mans severed manhood.
This pretty much tells you what you're
in for with this film.
Lots and lots of blood. Lots and lots
of sex.
The gore effects are actually quite
impressive. It's rude and crude but that's what makes it so damn
fun.
The acting is kinda rough at times but
overall a pretty decent job is done by most involved and the camera
work is a real throw back to the exploitation films of my youth.
Loud, bloody, nasty, vile, stupid and
awesome.
This film isn't for everyone but for
those of you who like your horror βin your faceβ and slightly
campy you would do well to pick yourself a copy of BLOOD AND SEX
NIGHTMARE.
A real 70's feel envelopes this one and
while I can't whole heartedly sing its praises I do feel there is an
audience for this type of horror and it's good to see folks still out
there in the trenches attempting to keep the spirit of uncensored in
your face horror alive.
