News like this is always so shocking and when it is of such a violent nature as this it makes it even harder to believe.

Lou Perryman, star of TCM 2 and a part of many other genre classics has been murdered.  Here is the report from the local news agency:

Austin police Friday identified the victim of a homicide in South Austin as Louis B. Perryman, 67, a Texas-born actor with film credits that include The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and The Blues Brothers .

Perryman's body was found in his home in the 1100 block of Darvone Circle in South Austin near Manchaca and Dittmar. Police said there were signs of trauma on his body and are investigating his death as a homicide.

Austin police say the main suspect is Seth Tatum, 26, who is charged with capital murder. Police say Tatum killed Perryman and then stole his car.

Tatum showed up at a jail facility Thursday. Information from Tatum led police to discover Perryman's body at a home.

Sgt. Joseph Chacon says Tatum said he was "pretty sure" he had killed the owner of the stolen vehicle. Police do not believe Tatum and Perryman knew each other.

Bond was set at $1 million.

KVUE News has learned that Perryman was extremely colorful and enjoyed minor celebrity status in Austin. His other film credits include Poltergeist and Boys Don't Cry. He also had roles in Walker Texas Ranger and various other TV shows.

Mourners have logged on to Perryman's Facebook page to express remorse over his death. His daughter Jennifer posted this note: "My dad died on Wednesday, April 1. He was a wonderful man and was so happy to have you all in his life. He was blessed."

Truly a shock and our condolences go out to Lou Perryman's friends and family.
