Most of us critics slammed it, Fangoria Radio made fun of it and still FRIDAY THE 13th killed at the weekend box office.
Early reports estimate that FRIDAY THE 13th will bring in somewhere around $42 Million for its opening 3 days.
Man oh man, I don't know that anyone was expecting it to do that well. I knew when I went to that midnight Thursday screening and had a hard time finding a seat that it was going to do big numbers but this really surprised me.
JASON is still king and the fans love him. I don't think anyone can question that.
Will it have any staying power? The next few weeks will tell the tale but with nothing really major in the genre the next few weeks it wouldn't surprise me to see it hang in the top 10 for the next few weeks.
Way to go JASON, you are still king of the slashers.
