Not gonna lie to you, never really a big fan of the Child's Play franchise. Just couldn't get myself all worked up over a killer doll but I know a whole bunch of you really liked Chucky and the gang so this news is for you.
Franchise creator / director / writer Don Mancini is gearing up to redo the original. In a recent interview he was talking about how the new version would be more scary and less funny and I have to agree that sounds like a great idea. Anyway, here are some more tasty morsels about the project:
βItβs a remake, but there are a lot of new things
in it. None of the details of the murders in the first movie will be
repeated. All of the set pieces are going to be completely brand new,
and weβre going to do a slight re-design on Chucky himself, although
Brad Dourif will absolutely be the voice of Chucky, and will once again
play Charles Lee Ray in the flesh. And weβre giving him more to do than
he did in the original movie."
Real glad to hear that Dourif will be returning as the voice. Really
can't imagine Chucky sounding any differently. Keep it here and we'll
keep you up to date as this one starts kicking.
