Well, this bit of news comes from a bit of dumb luck more than it does any investigative skill, but being a red-blooded horror fan I thought I'd share it with all of you first.
Living in South Pasadena, California I've always had more than my share of pride that my hometown is the town that once was Haddonfield in John Carpenter's original Halloween. Now, in the wake of the announcement of Rob Zombie's remake (plus the less-than-stellar reviews of its script), I'll admit to being more than a little wary of this update of one of horror's greatest classics.
However, I must give them some credit in one regard. Driving home from work I found a film crew (not a foreign sight down here), and an entire street covered in Halloween decorations. Jack-o-Lanterns, cobwebs and cheap dime-store-knick-knacks abound. Indeed, sticking my head out the window, a grip did confirm suspicions that they were once again going to use South Pas as Michael Myers' haunting grounds. Sadly they were nowhere near any of the original houses, but it's still just a matter of blocks to the original Myers house.
Now, I've been against this remake from the start, but considering that they've enough respect to use his original hometown, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
