MAVERICK ENTERTAINMENT dropped a press release today that is good news for SKIPP and SPECTOR fans.  There have been no movies made out of their books and that is just unbelievable to me.  That's all about to change though.

ANIMALS has been done for a while.  The screenplay was written by Craig Spector form the novel by he and John Skipp.  ANIMALS has kind of collected dust on the shelf for the last year or so but MAVERICK ENTERTAINMENT announced today that they will be releasing it to DVD on June 15th.

Here's the synopsis:

Syd has spent years wasting away in a washed-up hick town, but after meeting Nora his life will never be the same.  Easily seduced by her charms, Syd is pulled into her dark world and an unforgettable night of passion.  But in the light of day Syd begins to realize that his reckless night with Nora has filled him with a growing animal instinct to fight.  This is only the beginning to Syd’s journey into the unknown world of the ANIMALS lurking amidst us all.

The flick stars
Marc Blucas, Nicki Aycox, Eva Amurri, and Naveen Andrews and is directed by Arnold Cassius.

Here's the trailer to wet your appetite.
