Is COPPOLA Shotting A Horror Film? By Dave Dreher

DEADLINE

If this news is indeed confirmed it would be major indeed.
DEADLINE is reporting that legendary director Francis Ford Coppola has kind of silently begun filming his next project, and it has a genre connection.
Here's a snipit from their report:
Francis Ford Coppola has begun quietly directing his next feature. I'm told that Coppola is shooting Twixt Now And Sunrise, a thriller with overtones of horror, and that his star is Val Kilmer. Also in the cast are Elle Fanning (Super 8) and Bruce Dern (who long ago starred in the Coppola-scripted The Great Gatsby).
But the picture's fulcrum is Kilmer, who plays a horror novelist. The
film is based on a short story written by Coppola. It is shooting in
Napa, on Coppola's property. Coppola hasn't tackled the horror genre
since early in his career, when he directed Dementia 13, and of course Bram Stoker's Dracula. And some might consider Apocalypse Now to be horror.
Wow, how cool would this be? No "official" confirmation yet but as soon as it's validated, I'll let you know.
If it is true this would be the first time he's turned his attention to horror since 1992 when he brought us the amazing DRACULA. Has it really been almost 20 years? Ugh.

Everything
you believe will be changedthis

bone-chilling film comes from a collaboration of minds, rising

Hailed as Scary,
gripping and very intense!”(Access Hollywood),
The
Last Exorcism
was a festival favorite chosen for the LA Film Festival, Toronto
After Dark, Fright Fest and others throughout 2010. The film tells
the story of a charismatic preacher expecting to perform a routine exorcism on a disturbed religious fanatic but instead he
encounters a true evil far beyond his wildest imagination. Both the
Blu-ray Disc and the DVD provide a deeper look into the film with two
commentaries from the actors, director and producers; a making of
the film; the 2009 Cannes Film Festival teaser trailer and a
featurette that examines those involved in real life exorcisms. The
Blu-ray Disc hosts exclusive bonus materials including an additional
commentary containing stories from a spiritual warfare counselor, a haunting victim and a clinical psychologist; audition footage
from Ashley Bell and Patrick Fabian and the theatrical trailer. The
scariest movie of the summer! (WABC) heads

years of performing exorcisms and taking believers money,

with a film crew to document what is to be his last so he can dispel
what he believes is the myth of demonic possession. The dynamic

blood-soaked farm of the Sweetzer family and a true evil he would
have never thought imaginable.

With the supposed final installment of the SAW franchise hitting theaters later this week it's time to throw some last minute goodies your way. LIONSGATE set loose a new clip today that features everyone's favorite whacked out vigilante confronting one of his soon to be victims.
For a film that has been hyping the wild traps this is s very low key clip that just features some pretty intense one on one confrontation between Jigsaw and one of his soon to be "experiments" .

I love the fact that the folks behind THE WALKING DEAD are taking things to this level. In a major promotional stunt the likes of which hasn't been seen in quite some time the folks behind THE WALKING DEAD will be holding mass zombie infestations at landmarks around the world.
Here's the official word straight from AMC:

invasions beginning at daybreak in Taipei and Hong Kong on Tue., Oct.

during morning commute peak hours. Taking direction from The Walking Dead's

The planned global outbreaks will center in and around the world's
major landmarks, including the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, the
Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., Big Ben in London, the Prado Museum
in Madrid, the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul, the Acropolis in Athens
and more. They will begin at daybreak in Taipei and Hong Kong, followed
by Istanbul, Madrid, Munich, London, Sao Paolo, Buenos Aires, New York
City and Los Angeles, among others. Attacking a total of 26 cities, each
outbreak will be documented and shared with fans the world over as it
happens
