MR. HUSH, the new horror film from director David Lee Madison, wrapped filming on May 2nd after several weeks of on-location shooting in the Pike County section of Pennsylvania.

The film stars Edward X. Young as the titular main character, Stephen Geoffreys of FRIGHT NIGHT, Brad Loree of HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION and Steve Dash of FRIDAY THE 13TH PART II.  Also in the cast are Jessica Cameron of the upcoming THE DEAD MATTER, Connie Giordano, Thomas Churchill (also a producer on this film), and Vanessa Romanelli of "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila."  I visited the set recently and spoke with some of the cast and crew.

"MR. HUSH is a classic story of good versus evil," explains actor Young, a veteran of over twenty-two horror films.  "Mr. Hush may be the most evil character I have played in my career. Brad Loree plays Holland Price, our film's hero.  As the film opens, he's a happy family man when, on Halloween, my character comes in and kills his entire family and I keep him alive.  I do a lot of throat-cutting, stabbings and mutilations, and long, protracted torture sequences.  I play a very bad character indeed.  I would say that in a modern sense, this is the type of role that Vincent Price would have played as his worst, akin to THE CONQUEROR WORM, or as it was known in England, WITCHFINDER GENERAL."

"Holland Price is a very happily married, middle-aged suburbanite," says actor and stunt performer Loree, who has over 25 years of experience in the business.  "He gets tormented from a demon from his grandfather's past, and he's on a journey to find his daughter."

Director Madison's passion for Eighties horror, especially his love of FRIGHT NIGHT, THE LOST BOYS, and NEAR DARK, inspired him to write and direct MR. HUSH.  "I felt that it was time to make another classic horror film with an iconic horror character, and characters that you care about.  It's a film unlike the types of films that are made today, like the HOSTEL's and the SAW's which are more about gore.  So, I was looking to make a classic horror film with monsters and cool characters that you actually care about so that when something bad happens to these people, it actually means something."

House of Horrors will have more updates in time for the film's premiere scheduled for October 2010.
