"Victor Crowley's house is coming to life. Oh, the gore that lurks inside!"
If you follow Adam Green on either FACEBOOK or TWITTER then you know what that quote means. He updated his profiles with that little quote along with the following pics:
Seems that they are creeping ever closer to filming.
It appears the Adam Green is taking a page from the Rob Zombie school of casting as he has lined up Danielle Harris, Kane Hodder, A.J. Bowen, Tom Holland, Clare Grant, R.A. Mihailoff and Tony Todd to star.

Trailer For FROZEN Will Give You Chills By Dave Dreher - FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER OR FACEBOOK

I know a lot of you thought that HATCHET was just the best thing ever. Personally, I found OK but not the rebirth of the modern horror film. Just watched it again last night actually, still don't see why all the hoopla but Adam Green has moved on so I guess so should I.
His next project is a hot looking little film titled FROZEN and I sure do like the trailer a bunch. I don't know about you but for me there is nothing more spooky then normal mundane life going horribly wrong. It was made JAWS so good, it is what made THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE so good, you get the picture. Normal people thrust into a terrifying life or death struggle with no apparent solution. How can you go wrong.
Here is the story line for FROZEN:
A typical day on the slopes
turns into a chilling nightmare for three snowboarders when they get
stranded on the chairlift before their last run. As the ski patrol
switches off the night lights, they realize with growing panic that
theyβve been left behind dangling high off the ground with no way down.
And here is the films official trailer, it's a good one.

SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD Gets Dist. Deal And Check Out A Few Pics By Dave Dreher - FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER OR FACEBOOK

Magnet Releasing

I am really hoping for great things from SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD. It's of course the latest in the "of the dead" series from horror icon GEORGE A. ROMERO.
It's no big secret that I have been less then thrilled with the last few offerings from GAR but I'm always willing to give the man a chance to give it another try and try he will when MAGNET RELEASING unleashes SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD on VOD and then in theaters.
Here are the details:
Magnet Releasing, genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, announced today
that it has acquired US rights to GEORGE A. ROMEROβS SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD, the
latest in the legendary and beloved series of zombie films which bowed at the
Venice and Toronto Film Festivals earlier this year. Romero, one of the
most influential and respected horror auteurs of all time, has created a new,
terrifying vision that combines viscerally gory undead action with biting social
commentary and a return to the black humor and playfulness of his seminal film,
DAWN OF THE DEAD. Magnet will release the film as part of its Ultra VOD program
this spring, debuting it on VOD platforms nationwide a month before its
theatrical release.
Like its predecessors, GEORGE A.
ROMERO'S SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD takes place in a desperate, nightmarish world
where the dead walk the earth, relentlessly attacking the living. It is the
story of Plum Island β a beautiful refuge whose isolation allows two powerful
families to maintain a semblance of order in the wake of the zombie
holocaust. But as the inhabitants slowly die off, the two clans become
sharply divided: the O'Flynns believe that the undead must be destroyed without
exception, while the Muldoons insist that afflicted loved ones be kept alive
until a cure is found. The result is an escalating showdown with echoes of a
classic Western stand-off that erupts in brutality and violence.
George A. Romero is an undisputed
cinematic legend, and we're honored to be bringing another installment of this
incredible series of films to horror fans, said Magnolia President Eamonn
Bowles. SURVIVAL is smart, extremely fun and a worthy addition to the Of the
Dead franchise.
Says Romero, I'm a big admirer of the
team at Magnolia. They're creative and passionate, and I'm excited to put Survival in their hands.β
The deal was negotiated by Magnolia's
Senior Vice President Tom Quinn with Victoria Cook for Cinetic Media, on behalf
of Art Spigel and Ara Katz of Artfire Films and Peter Grunwald
of Romero-Grunwald Productions.
Here's a couple pics from the film, I don't think they are new ones they were just attached to the press release so I figured I would post them as well.

THE REEDS Becomes A Film To Die For By Dave Dreher - FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER OR FACEBOOK

Arrow In The Head

2010 brings the fourth installment of the EIGHT FILMS TO DIE FOR nationwide film festival from AFTER DARK FILMS and it was announced that the 7th of those 8 films has been chosen.
It's THE REEDS. We talked about this one a few months back. It's the film about killer lake plants. Yeah, you read that right.
To say I'm a bit leary about this one is an understatement but hey, let's give it a shot. Who knows, right.
Here's what I know about THE REEDS:
A weekend boating trip through the Norfolk Broads becomes a deadly ordeal for six 20-something year old friends who lose their bearings in the vast reedy tidewaters. Chances of escape
and hopes for survival diminish as inexplicable forces terrorize the
lost and terrified group.
As tends to be the case with these AFTER DARK showcases this film stars a bunch of unknowns, at least to me.
THE REEDS stars Anna Brewster, O.T. Fagbenle, Will Mellor, Danny
Caltagirone, Scarlett Alice Johnson, Emma Catherwood, and Geoff Bell.
THE REEDS will open on Jan. 29th as a part of the AFTER DARK FILM FEST.
