Uh-oh.
David Fincher's new thriller, Zodiac, is not getting much love from Paramount Pictures. The studio has elected to release the film January 19th, 2007. The first part of the year is traditionally reserved for the release of, uhm, well, how should I put this, uh, crap. Whether or not this means that Zodiac is poor or that Paramount doesn't know what they're doing . . . well, regardless, I'm a bit wary now.
Zodiac examines the true life case of the Zodiac killer, the criminal who taunted police with clues to his crimes. In addition to terrorizing San Francisco, he also spawned the film tradition of serial killers who are clever enough to create such puzzles, but stupid enough to want to help the police catch them. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr., and Mark Ruffalo.
