I'm one of the anti-fans of AvP. I thought its weak story, dull characters, and lack of gory conviction rendered it a shadow of both series.
At the very least, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem will address the third concern. This red-band trailer contains an unholy amount of gore, blood, and gristle. It hearkens back to the original Predator with all its red stuff. While I'm not a huge fan of gore, let's face it: it's good to see the stuff back where it should be.
