Got the word tonight on the DVD release of John Carpenter’s second season effort PRO LIFE. Read on for the details:
Witness The Birth March 20, 2007 on DVD
BURBANK, CA – Fresh off the success of last year’s critically-lauded Masters of Horror episode “Cigarette Burns,” legendary horror director John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing) returns for the second season of the acclaimed Masters of Horror anthology series with “John Carpenter’s Pro-Life,” arriving on DVD March 20, 2007 from Anchor Bay Entertainment. A twisted tale of the supernatural – and the paternal – “John Carpenter’s Pro-Life” stars cult film veteran Ron Perlman (Alien: Resurrection, Hellboy, Blade II) and Mark Feuerstein (In Her Shoes, What Women Want). “John Carpenter’s Pro-Life” also comes bundled with all-new value-added supplements including a commentary track with Mr. Carpenter himself. SRP is $14.98 and pre-book is February 7, 2007.
Written by MOH alumni Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan (”John Carpenter’s Cigarette Burns”), “Pro-Life” starts with a near-accident on an isolated mountain road. Both the victim, young Angelique (Caitlin Wachs) and the couple that almost hit her (Mark Feuerstein and Emmanuelle Vaugier), drive to a nearby women’s health clinic. This facility also happens to be targeted by Angelique’s devoutly religious, fervent “pro-life” father Dwayne (Ron Perlman) for their “ungodly” activities. As Dwayne and his three sons attempt to “rescue” Angelique, she discovers that the only thing more dangerous than her would-be saviors is the demonic secret growing within her.
Swaddled with “John Carpenter’s Pro-Life” are the following bouncing bonus features:
• Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1), enhanced for 16x9 televisions • Audio commentary with Director John Carpenter and Writers Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan • Featurette: “Final Delivery: The Making of Pro-Life” • Featurette: “Demon Baby: Birthing the FX Sequence” • Storyboard Gallery • Director Bio • Screenplay (DVD-ROM)
Should have some box art for you soon.
