Adam Green and Ryan Schifrin have kind of become household names in the horror community this year. Adam having great success with HATCHET and Ryan with ABOMINABLE. The two have teamed up for a little Halloween treat that is a ton of fun. Read on for the info and then click the link below for you own special little Halloween treat:
As many of you know by now, it's become a tradition at ArieScope to make a short film to celebrate Halloween each year. In the vein of how we got started, the main rule is that it is always done for no money, with our friends, and all in one night. (OK, so this year we got slightly more ambitious and shot over 2 nights...want to fight about it?) But the goal is to take some time out each year to go back to our roots and remind ourselves why we love what we do and how much fun it all really is.
So where have all of the previous short films gone? What happened to the favorites like MIDNIGHT, OH SHERRIE, and THE REAL WORLD HOLLYWOOD? Why are they not on this website anymore? Well, with the success of HATCHET and all of the upcoming mainstream Hollywood projects ArieScope now has going on...we felt it was time to grow up a little bit and separate our real work from our "just for fun" stuff. But don't worry. There's a new site in the works for 2007 where all of your favorite ArieScope Pictures short films from the past decade will once again be available to watch on-line. From COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND to TRICK OR TREAT...they all shall return. Until then...enjoy our new creation while it lasts on here and as always... feel free to download it, re-post it, or send this link as a Halloween Greeting to everyone you know. That's what it's here for.
My good friend, director Ryan (ABOMINABLE) Schifrin and I share the same fear of a certain ad campaign that's been terrorizing network television lately. This film is made in response to our fears. After all, isn't that what Halloween is supposed to be all about? Facing and laughing at your fears?
Well...and candy and dead things, too.
Happy Halloween!
