When Animals Dream (2014) Review:

When Animals Dream is a Danish movie about a young woman’s transformation into a werewolf, making it the werewolf counterpart to recent movies such as Contraction and Starry Eyes.

As in the movie cited about, When Animal Dream starts with a woman discovering some strange rash on her body, which will soon follow with some more graphic transformation. The character of the young woman is well developed, and the hereditary aspect of her disease used cleverly to make the story richer. Still, I would have hoped for a little more in terms of story twists and surprises.

If not for its story, When Animals Dream will be remembered for its typical Scandinavian feeling: slow-paced, rough and cold-looking. The characters are atypical and it simply could have been such a better movie if the story was a little less generic.
