The Screaming Skull (1958)Review:

This ghost classic from the 50’s is one that came as a good surprise to me. Being rated 3/10 on IMBD, I was expecting it to be really bad, only to find out the exact opposite.

The film is a very complex thriller whose story keeps surprising as you watch it. It starts as a rather classic ghost film. That part is average but useful to set the ground for the story. The characters are very endearing and the tone of the movie quite sad. The story has a tragic tone that makes quite fascinating to follow.

The movie then surprise with a really clever and powerful twist that caught me totally off guard. After that, the movie ending is not fabulous, especially the final pursuit which suffer from terribly bad special effect…even for a film from the 50’s. But still, it simple good twist makes it very worth the watch.
