The Ring 2 (2005) Review:

Many considered the Ring 2 to be a poor sequel of the first one but I rather disagree with that. Ok, the originality of the movie is gone and this time the spectator knows what to expect, and probably is expecting a little too much, but anyway. I wasn’t disappointed at all: the movie is as scary as the first one but this time the acting performance of the young boy Aiden (David Dorfman, already great in the first The Ring) makes this all movie even more terrifying. The scene in which Samara takes possession of the boy and the mum comes home is extremely disturbing and I was really shocked, how can a 13 years old boy play so well this type of scenes….?  This boy so crept me out solid. David, you have a new fan…! I found the presence of Naomi Watts very enjoyable too, she is a great actress.

Overall “The Ring 2” is a great sequel and a movie that I would recommend to anyone just for its acting performance! This film once more proves Hideo Nakata (Ringu, Dark Water) as one of the greatest asian-horror director.
