Society (1989) Review:

“Society” is one of the most bizarre movies that I have ever seen and my favorite film from Brian Yuzna who directed, amongst others, “The Dentist”, “Bride of Re-Animator” and “Return of the Living Dead III”.

This film is very disturbing and, by never letting you know who to trust, manages to create a highly paranoid atmosphere. The characters, also, are really odd and add to the creepy atmosphere. Even though it can be quite weird at times, the film doesn’t take itself too seriously and mixes in the humor quite well.

The climax scene is highly shocking and of the best endings that I have seen.  Not even words can describe how abnormal it is!

I highly recommend “Society” to anyone who enjoys bizarre cinema and body horror. Fans of David Cronenberg’s “Videodrome and Stuart Gordon’s “Re-animator” should appreciate this one and will not be disappointed.
