Rosemary’s Baby (1968) Review:
Rosemary’s Baby is a very interesting movie in that it is like no others. The film shows absolutely nothing shocking; there is no gore, no ghost or monsters and no blood at all. So you may think that Rosemary’s Baby is not scary at all but you would be wrong. It slowly builds a very deep intrigue which only in the end reveals its evil meaning…and a really creepy conclusion.
The characters in that movie are genius. The old couple is extremely strange, annoying but interesting at the same time. They really gave me the creep. Rosemary, on the other hand, is a real angel. Mia Farrow is a really pretty actress who really brought that really innocent and harmless touch to her character.
The movie takes ages to get started and is quite slow paced at first…but this creates a special atmosphere to it. You really get to be immersed deeply into the story and it seems like you live every days of Rosemary pregnancy with her. The movie may lack a little action for me, but the stunning and horrific ending makes up for it a thousand times. I wouldn’t call it one of the best horror ever made as some do, but Rosemary’s Baby is still a great classic and amongst the best psychological horror you will watch.
