Paranormal Entity (2009) Review:
Paranormal Entity is what’s called a money-driven project: an obvious rip-off of Paranormal Activity which happen to the movie that generated the highest profit in horror history. The director, Shane Van Dyke, is actually one used to the concept since he already took part in other rip-off including Transmorphers, and The Day The Earth Stopped (I always find the title hilarious!).
Being a big fan of Paranormal Movies I have to say I was excited to see this film. It starts off slow just explaining each family members experience with the entity and what each thinks has brought it to their home. Once things really start to escalate, you see that whatever is in this home seems to only be interested in the daughter. After a failed attempt in trying to leave the house, the family decides to call in a professional. The professional comes in and confirms the family fears: this entity is only after the sister and there is more or less nothing anyone can do but cleanse the house.
I was very curious on how this movie would end. Because there is so much built up, I figured it would have to be a WICKED ending…but nope, the ending was such a let-down. All you get is dark shadows and lots of screaming… but not a lot is shown. Once the movie had ended I even went back to.
