Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015) Review:

Set 30 years or so after the events of Paranormal Activity 3The Ghost Dimension was announced as the last movie of the PA franchise, and so I was expecting some kind of wrap up of the overall story… but what was I thinking? This (supposedly) last opus is a simple repetition of previous movies with no attempt whatsoever to conclude the franchise. Storywise, this movie really deserves a 1 out of 10, the characters are poorly developed, some of them introduced and barely used – and the overall experience utterly predictable.

But the one that got most people annoyed is the introduction of a black shaped ghost as the demon. The strength of the two good movies from the franchise (Paranormal Activity 1 and 3) lied in the power suggestion, and The Ghost Dimension simply break away from the basic concept of the previous movies. By showing us the ghost, the movie suddenly loses all of its interest. The first half is difficult so boring that it is difficult to watch. Now I do not want to completely destroy that movie (the internet has done it enough) for I actually found the last 1/3 of movie watchable, and that account for the 3 points given… but then again, I cannot help but feeling quite generous on this one.

One to watch only if you’ve seen all the previous PA and wish to complete the franchise… otherwise I really wouldn’t bother.
