Paranormal Activity (2007) Review:

I clearly understand why this movie is so heavily criticized. When you look at it in depth there is nothing in it. It is just things appearing or disappearing, a little bit of flour on the floor, noises, etc… Yet, I think it is an unfair way to look at it, because Paranormal Activity still succeeded where so many failed, it sacred the crap out of a lot of people.

I think Paranormal Activity is typically a context movie, so you can have a totally different experience whether you are watching it with some friends joking around, or alone in the dark with your headphones on. I would highly recommend the latest in order to, at least, enjoy the movie. Of course, Paranormal Activity is far from perfect, the paranormal events and the reactions of the actors are often quite laughable, but if you are indulgent and let the movie scare you, you’ll get into it.  I think that the absence of plot is largely compensated by the tension that the “found footage type of shooting” manages to build. If you are in the mood, this movie may even develop into a deeply oppressive experience which I personally found rather captivating. Recommended to everyone except skeptics in a criticizing mood.
