House III: The Horror Show (1989) Review:

The “House” series changes writers/directors and propose a totally different film. House III is a real horror-thriller and not a comedy anymore…and would like to say thanks for I couldn’t stand it anymore. Finally, this House movie is a real, decent, horror movie!!

The movie features two great actors: Lance Henriksen as the good guy (Aliens, Pumpkinhead, Near Dark) and Brion James as the bad guy (The Fifth Element, Blade Runner). Lance Henriksen, as usual, makes a good job, it is interesting how he almost becomes the bad guy at the end. Best, Brion James performance in that movie is absolutely awesome. His character, “Meat Cleaver Max”, is a total psycho and he is playing it perfectly here, making the film truly scary at times! I will always remember his terrible look and laugh! One of the best horror acting performances!

The movie is good simply thanks to the great character played by Brion James. Aside from this, there is not much to it, the scenario is super basic and there not much originality overall. Easily my favorite House movie from the series.
