ExtraMovies

[Note: We do not encourage any kind of piracy]

Piracy website networks are hard to control these days. Especially, when they keep coming in different constructions & they have various URLs. ExtraMovies is one of those kinds of websites. Let me explain what I’m talking about.

Content on ExtraMovies isn’t legal

The content in ExtraMovies is very organized. Even it may trick you into thinking that it’s a legitimate website. But, don’t get tricked by it. Neither the website nor the content is actually legal.

ExtraMovies doesn’t own any rights of the content that they upload on their platform. That’s a violation of the Copyright law of India. They have been banned multiple times but, they came back with new URLs afterwards.

The variation in content types on ExtraMovies

ExtraMovies have different websites, serving different purposes. One of these websites lets the users download movies directly & the other mainly deals with torrent links instead. There is a vast base of content that is available on ExtraMovies. Here’s a list of the major categories from both the websites.

There are multiple clone websites & those also doing piracy as you’ll expect. Their content base also includes similar types of media.

ExtraMovies has a significant impact on the movie industry

ExtraMovies has a significant amount of impact on the movie industry & it’s not good. Newly released movies get leaked pretty fast here & within a few hours, thousands of people download them. This directly affects the number of tickets sold. As people already download the movies, they don’t need to visit the theatre anymore.

The same goes for TV shows & Web series. Legal streaming services get fewer subscriptions because of their online piracy presence. In both cases, the movie or TV shows/Web series makers end up earning a lot less money. That creates massive damage to the profit margins. The production houses & their employees, often end up facing a huge crisis from the money perspective.

Downloading pirated movies can be a reason for your own downfall

If you’re one of those people who prefer to download pirated movies & other content instead of paying for tickets & streaming service subscriptions, it’s time to change your preference. Downloading pirated content also counts as a crime. If you get caught because of this, you’ll be in bigtime trouble.

  • You may end up in jail for several months. For downloading pirated movies specifically, you may need to stay there anywhere from 6 months up to 3 years.
  • Otherwise, you may need to pay a significant amount of money as Fine. This can be anywhere from 50000 rupees to 200000 rupees.

So, if you don’t want to face any of that. You must stop downloading pirated content from now on.

Piracy is bad for everyone. Let’s boycott it!

Piracy can be harmful to everyone. To production houses & their employees & even to the ones that are downloading pirated content. So, why is it still here? Well, it turns out people can’t get out from the temptation of piracy. That’s mostly because they don’t have any idea about its impacts.

So, boycott piracy once & for all and educate people about its harmful impacts. Once people stop downloading pirated content, there will be no reason for piracy to exist anymore. That way we can wipe out piracy & create a cleaner internet & industry.
