Anchor Bay And Roger Corman Team Up

Anchor Bay today sent along word that they are teaming up with the one and only Roger Corman to bring us a legendary tale.  Here's the info that they sent along:

Famed producer Roger Corman and the director of the upcoming Wrong Turn 3 bring to life an ancient creature when Anchor Bay Entertainment unleashes Cyclops on DVD February 24, 2009. With a high-powered cast including Academy Award®-nominee Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, “Heroes”), Kevin Stapleton (“One Life To Live”), Frida Farrell (Contract Killers), and Craig Archibald (Capote), the DVD release of Cyclops comes cloaked in a luminescent, embossed “O” card and includes graphic scenes of carnage not seen during its original Sci-Fi Channel broadcast.

The Roman Empire is at its zenith. A time of mighty gladiators, lusty women, abundant wealth – and a ferocious one-eyed monster that slaughters those foolish enough to enter his forest domain. The corrupt Emperor Tiberius (Academy Award®-nominee Eric Roberts) has a plan to please the bloodlust of the people: capture the creature and unleash him in the arena against his condemned slaves, including wrongfully imprisoned General Marcus Romulus (Kevin Stapleton, “One Life to Life”). Now, the ultimate battle between man and beast is about to commence…and Rome will taste the full fury of Hell unleashed!

No one does it like Corman and we all know what Anchor Bay brings to the table so I think there is reason to a bit excited about this announcement.
