DVD Review: DEAD MARY

Ok first things first, leave bloody mary alone. Yes as kids 90 percent of us grew up doing the whole mirror thing and telling everyone that we seen her. Hell some of us actually blamed scratches on our arms on her.But as far as movies go, it has been over played and your just not going to get that big of a scare factor from it.Now with that out of the way, as far as the movie goes, I was impressed.

There have been so many of these movies done , but this one was the first one i seen with an original idea to it. In the movie she does not pop out of the mirror, or live in tunnels, or haunt you in your sleep.This bitch posesses you.So thank god for that, no oh i am getting attacked from the mirror wench.So you have this group of tight knit freinds who go out to this cabin at the lake just to have a weekened of getting stoned and drunk,( good weekened). As they are sitting there in there drunken stooper one night, they decide to do the whole bloody mary thing ,but they call her dead mary. So 3 of them go do it and some weird shit happens, but no one pays attention to it and they all go to bed. The rest from there is for you to see. I do have to say that i also like the fact that the person who becomes posessed cannot be killed easily. You either have to chop up there body and burie it all over the place, or you can burn them. You'll know what i mean when you see it.

As far as the effects in this film, I was impressed also.Not a ton of blood spillage and really nothing to make the movie hokey. Hell some of the shit was pretty cool how they did it. It is not every day when you could be chewed up and come right back to life. The best part of the movie was that there was no huge exagerations. The people who became posessed were not god like and extremely powerful, they were just a pain in the ass to kill.

I have to admit over all i was very impressed with the movie and would watch it again.It is about time this consept was done differently, and done quit well.Not to mention the hot ass actresses in it. So if you are ready for a movie on an over played plot, but with a new great twist, this one is for you. And just remember, the next time you decide to play bloody mary, make sure you have plenty of matches and gasoline around.

Over all rating 1-10 i would give it a 7.
