Sep 24, 2005,

The author is David Grove and the book is Making Friday the 13th:  The Legend of Camp Blood.  Quite simply this is the most in depth, most complete look at the legendary film franchise that I have ever seen.

The book follows the complete film series, including Freddy vs. Jason and takes us behind the scenes of each production and also offers us up complete cast and crew listings and so many pictures it is almost surreal.  Most of the pictures seem to have been supplied by those involved with the film and are one of the main reasons to pick up the book.  Great stuff.

One feature that I really loved was the Appendix titled The Body Count where Mr. Grove has broken down every film with a complete listing of each and every victim of the Voorhees family.  Not only does he list the victim, he lists how they are killed.  AWESOME.

Well written and very well researched making Friday the 13th is a must for any fan of the Friday the 13th franchise or of the splatter sub genre as a hole. You can pick up the film at Amazon.com or at your local bookstore.  I had to special order my copy through Borders but it showed up in less than a week.
