Dark Castle.  Man, have they got a losing streak.  From 13 Ghosts to House of Wax, they've proven that they can make a killer set and populate it with the dumbest people imaginable.  In addition to pissing on the grave of William Castle.

Now, it seems that Dark Castle, if they ever had any original ideas, lost them, and are going back to the film that launched their production company:  William Malone's House on Haunted Hill.  The new film?  Return to the House on Haunted Hill.

New director Victor Garcia: "Offical word about it and about the cast is yet to be done and I guess that it's going to happen in the next weeks. Shooting is scheduled to begin in Bulgaria late August."

In addition to having a title that rivals I Still Know What You Did Last Summer in terms of clumsiness, Return has the unpleasant distinction of living up to the one Dark Castle film was genuinely good.  Geoffrey Rush and Chris Kattan, along with Malone's stylish direction, made the first one a mostly fun and spooky ride.

Still, here's to hoping Garcia does the unthinkable and makes the film work.
