Over at Comingsoon.net they were talking with Jeffery Reddick and Jeremy Haft, the team behind the upcoming TAMARA and in the interview things turned towards the Day of the Dead remake that Jeffery is already working on. Check it out…Jeffrey's also currently working on the script for a remake of George Romero's Day of the Dead, so we asked whether that would be a direct sequel to the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. "It's going to be a separate movie," he told us. "We wanted to pay homage to the original with the military and the scientists and the socially relevant stuff that George Romero always does, but we wanted to put a fresh spin on it. There will be similarities, but there'll be differences as well that I think fans will hopefully dig. Steve Miner ('Friday the 13th Part 2') is directing, which I'm really excited about." That's scheduled to start filming later this year. "I can't complain too much," he continued, when asked to comment about the recent slew of horror remakes. "As a fan, I'm kind of tired of them in general. Unless you can bring a fresh take to the story, it's kind of insulting for any director to think they can top Wes Craven or George Romero or Tobe Hooper, but it's a safer bag, because it goes back to the studios not wanting to take a chance on something."
