Mar 11, 2006,

Sid Haig will be making his directorial feature film debut with Bubba the Redneck Werewolf. Sid is known to most horror fans as the loveable maniac Captain Spaulding from Rob Zombies Devil’s Rejects and recently staring in the new vampire film Brotherhood of Blood. The movie will be a live action version of Mitch Hyman’s entertaining comic Bubba the Redneck Werewolf. Here is where the fun kicks in not only is Haig Directing the film but he is also starring as Bubba. That means Haig will bring his twisted charm and outrageous sense of humor to the role. The production has put together a strong team like Bill Whitacre the brains behind the Blair Witch ad campaign that showed the movie industry that the internet and movie fans can take a small film and make it gross over $100 million dollars with out the usual
Hollywood machine. The Special Fix will be handled by Barry Anderson ,the lead sculptor for Ripley Entertainment.(you know the Ripley’s Believe It or Not team). You can tell this is a exciting opportunity for Sid and this is what he has to say.

"I am extremely happy and excited to be a part of this project.  The source material - the comic 'Bubba the Redneck Werewolf' - makes the project even more interesting because of the worldwide built-in fan base the book has.

To be able to work with my good friend Mitch Hyman, the creator if Bubba, and Bill Whitacre - who is not only a technical, but artistic powerhouse - makes me feel extremely safe in that I can allow my creative juices to flow.  Beyond that, we have Barry Anderson creating the Bubba appliances I will be wearing, which will be amazing because you will be able to identify my features through the Bubba makeup.

This is something that I have wanted for a very long time, and to now be able to express myself as a feature film Director is something that, for a very long time, I've felt I would never achieve.  Now I feel that I am blessed."
