Feb 28, 2006,

Just got the artwork and the skinny on a new project to be release by Universal’s UMVD branch.  Here are all the details:

LifeLine Entertainment, Inc. from Huntington Beach, CA has contracted with Barnholtz Entertainment of Calabasas, CA, to handle the domestic home video distribution (U.S. & Canada) of “Hallowed.” The independent horror film was shot in parts of southern California, including the cities of South Pasadena, Fullerton, Orange and Huntington Beach in 2005. Hallowed held its World Premiere Screening at Century Theaters in Huntington Beach, CA on January 12, 2006. Theatrical screenings include New York City & Tijuana, Mexico and the film made its film festival debut in Los Angeles at the Hollywood DV/HD Festival in Hollywood, California in December, 2005, where it picked up an award for best screenplay/story concept.

The domestic home video (DVD) of Hallowed will be released in April or May this year which will include running audio commentary from the filmmakers, Rocky Costanzo & Roy Thomasson, the film's theatrical trailer and & slide show from the film's world premiere event.

Barnholtz, which has already has major success with their other horror-genre titles, will distribute the film through Universal Picture's UMVD home video label, and expects to release Hallowed to major outlets as Best Buy, Blockbuster Video, Hollywood Video, Netflix, Tower Records and others this spring.

Hallowed is a modern day slasher flick, shot in the style of retro-horror films of the late 70's/early 80's. The film's director, Rocky Costanzo pays homage to John Carpenter and his classic masterpiece film "Halloween" with subtle dialog & theme montages throughout the duration of the film.

“We were contacted by six or seven distributors before the first cut was even finished last May,” remarks Roy Thomasson, the Executive Producer. "Barry and his team just seemed to be the appropriate choice for our film.

“Television and cable airings, as well as international distribution are expected to be negotiated later this year.”

Hallowed is the second feature film produced by LifeLine Entertainment, following the success of its 2001 release of "Return to Innocence," which has sold an unbelievable 36,000 DVD units to date. "RTI really put us on the map" explains Costanzo. "Without the success of that film, we would not be fortunate enough to have made Hallowed."

The filmmaking team of LifeLine Entertainment is very busy these days, currently working on several new film projects, including a music documentary, another horror film and a coming-of age drama... all expected to surface in the next few years.
