Feb 7, 2006,

Some of my favorite horror fiction ever came from the amazing duo of John Skipp and Craig Spector.  Back in the day they ruled the “go for the throat, rip your head off and piss down your neck” style of horror.  I’m sure some of you will remember the Book of the Dead and also Still Dead arguably 2 of the best collections of zombie horror ever compiled.  When Skipp and Spector parted ways an era ended and the “splatterpunk” style of writing all but vanished.

Both authors are still writing and John Skipp is about to release what was to have been the third in the Book of the Dead series, this one is called Mondo Zombie and it looks like it is going to kick some major ass.  John Skipp once again has handled the editing tasks on this copulation. Cemetery Dance Publications is the one releasing it and no one does a better job at genre publications than them.

Got an email this morning  informing me that we can all now head on over to the Cemetery Dance website and check out an excerpt from one of the stories, and a great story it is.  You can click here and read an excerpt from Maternal Instinct by Robert Bloch.  Mondo Zombie is currently at the printers and I’m telling you, this is going to a hot one, click here to pre-order your copy now.  They’re going to go quick so get one while you can.
