The much anticipated announcement from the Masters of Horror camp on the final 3 “Masters” for season two has come and I have to tell you, I’m not real impressed.  Nothing against the lucky 3 that have been chosen but from a fan point of view these are pretty much well, lame.

MASTERS OF HORROR has rounded out its second-season directorial slate with a trio of new additions. In addition to those previously reported, filmmakers helming episodes will include Peter Medak, whose credits include the celebrated ghost story THE CHANGELING and the less acclaimed SPECIES II; Rob Schmidt of WRONG TURN, currently working on the serial-murder opus THE ALPHABET KILLER; and, representing Japan, Norio Tsuruta, the man behind RING Ø and PREMONITION, among others. Fango has learned that Medak is doing THE WASHINGTONIANS, from a script by actor Johnathon (THE FORSAKEN) Schaech and author/editor Richard T. Chizmar based on a Bentley Little story; we'll bring you more details on all the specific episodes as we find 'em out!

So like I said, pretty underwhelming.  I’m sure that these film makers will do a fine job it is just that from a “fan’s talking about it with unbridled enthusiasm” point of view this is about as exciting as announcing Pauley Shore is making a horror film.
