The sun that shed light on the slaughter of a million animals has set - their devoured carcasses knawed down to the bones - the muscles dangle shredded, white flesh decomposes to gray - and the scent of rotting flesh lingers in the air.   As our fatty tissues thicken, reach to the DVD player, and take in some more tales of horror as you awaken from the sleep of the gluttonous  - from the amateur independant filmmaker to the mega-dollar hollywood productions...  Here are the new DVD releases for the week of November 27th, 2005

Don't Go in the House (1980)

DVD Release Date: November 29, 2005
82 min
Starring:  Dan Grimaldi, Robert Osth, Ruth Dardick
Directed by:  Joseph Ellison

Rated R

In a steel room built for revenge, they die - burning in chains...  Released to theaters back in March 28, 1980, Don't Go In The House is a slasher film about a victim of child abuse who grows up to become a maniacal construction worker. He hunts women at discos, takes them home, then hangs them upside-down in a special steel-walled room and sets them on fire.  Sounds brutal.  Click here to get it from Amazon.com

No rest for the wicked...  Peter Jackson's witty and death ridden Michael J. Fox movie has returned from the dead in an unrated director's cut.  It generally failed at the box office - on a budget of $30 million budget it grossed about $17 million in the US, $28 worldwide.  A fun ghostbustery light horror flick nonetheless.  DVD features include:

Gorgo (1961)

DVD Release Date: November 29, 2005
78 min
Starring:  Bill Travers, William Sylvester, Vincent Winter

Directed by:  Eugène Lourié

Rated R

Like nothing you've ever seen before!  Now in widescreen "destruction" vision, comes 1961's Gorgo, hot on the heels of the recent wave of "monster-movie" rereleases.  Gorgo is a 200 foot godzilla-like prehistoric creature that trashes London after some scientists capture one of its infants.  Its a little faded from its glory, but Gorgo is a good saturday morning monster movie, especially for kids.  DVD bonuses include:

Digitally Remastered version
Behind the Scenes Short
Photo Gallery
Scene Selection
Animated Menus
Original Theatrical Trailer
Widescreen/Letterboxed
DVD-9
Dolby Digital 5.1

 Mangler Reborn (2005)

DVD Release Date: November 29, 2005
90 min
Starring:  Reggie Bannister, Aimee Brooks, Weston Blakesley
Directed by:  Matt Cunningham, Erik Gardner

Rated R for bloody violence/gore, language and brief nudity

The massacre continues...  Ten years after the original massacre, another man obsessed over his machine leads to several murders.  Special appearance by Reggie Bannister of Phantasm fame.  Rumor has it, it's got some heavy gore and violence, but stretched thin amidst a weak plot.  They pulled this off with a budget under $1 mil so its a crap-shoot.  Click here to get it from Amazon.com
