Alley Tramp/Over 18 & Ready

Plot Synopsis:  Horror director Herschell Gordon Lewis's venture into 60's sex cult...

Alley Tramp:  Gutter Girls! When teenage Marie Barker sees Mommy and Daddy doing it, she not only immediately develops "a serious case of nymphomania" but becomes an instant Alley Tramp! Seducing her cousin Phil when he comes over to study, the two are soon cutting school and shacking up in a cheap motel. It gets worse when Marie catches Mommy doing it again, this time with a greasy bar-pickup named Herbie, and blackmails Mom by hopping in the sack with him -- "Like mother, like daughter!" -- in this hilariously rancid little gem. But don't let the fake French credits fool ya. This "example of adolescence gone astray" was actually shot in Chicago, with director "Armand Parys" none other than The Wizard of Gore himself, Herschell Gordon Lewis!

Over 18... and Ready:  Lyn is not only Over 18... and Ready, but so anxious to become a Hollywood star that she tries to swap her job as secretary to skinflick producer Barney Merrit for a shot as the star of his next nudie. But it's Barney's lesbian wife Billie who thinks Lyn would be great for the film -- and her bed. Pretty soon, Lyn is getting whipped and mauled in front of the cameras while caught in the middle of the Merrit's sexual peccadillos in this slimy little skinflick which we hope isn't too autobiographical... ~ Amazon.com

The Blood Trilogy: Blood Feast/Two Thousand Maniacs!/Color Me Blood Red (1965)

- trailers:
  Blood Feast (real media)
  Two Thousand Maniacs (flash)
Color Me Blood Red (real media)

Plot Synopsis:  This box set includes three of pioneering gore-meister Herschell Gordon Lewis's bloody masterpieces.

Blood Feast:  Schlock king Herschell Gordon Lewis' magnum opus about an affluent Florida suburb terrorized by Fuad Ramses, an Isis-worshipping psychopathic caterer who tries to resurrect the spirit of the goddess by preparing a ritual feast of human organs. His intended dessert is former Playboy Playmate Mason, who, during one scene, reads her lines from a script on a nearby coffee table. Arguably the first horror movie to feature explicit gore. Also features a gripping tympani score composed and performed by Lewis himself. Incalculable historical and cult value.

2000 Maniacs:  Three couples on a cross-country trip are detoured off the main road and find themselves in the middle of a strange ghost town populated by civil war casualties. They're all about to earn a red badge of courage.

Color Me Blood Red:  A demented artist finds that his paintings sell better when he uses actual human blood for his red pigments. Not wanting to use his own vital fluids, the artist begins killing his models and disemboweling them when his red paint supply runs low. ~ Amazon.com

Ganja and Hess (1973)

Plot Synopsis:  In this once-lost masterpiece of independent horror, the blade of an ancient African knife spreads a vampiric contagion to research assistant George (director Bill Gunn), whose bloodlust soon infects Dr. Hess Green (Night of the Living Dead's Duane Jones) as well. When Hess is enraptured by George's beautiful wife, Ganja (Enter the Dragon's Marlene Clark), he attempts to conceal his terrible secret... but at a high price. Intended to capitalize on the 1970s market for gothic horror films and blaxploitation, this bold, striking statement from Bill Gunn - playwright, actor, multiple threat artist - is an arthouse thriller about addiction, culture clashes, and moral redemption. Hailed as one of the great artistic achievements of modern American cinema, it was the only American film screened during Critics' Week at the 1973 Cannes Film Festival where it won a standing ovation. It was literally ahead of its time--so audacious and unique it was all but buried after being screened for years in a savagely-butchered edition. We are proud to present this exclusive DVD restoration of Bill Gunn's director's cut, including 3 minutes of footage missing from previous home video versions. ~ Amazon.com

Stephen King 3 Pack (2006)

- trailers (flash)
  Children of the Corn
  Creepshow 2

Plot Synopsis

Children of the Corn: Young lovers on a cross-country trip stop in a small Nebraska community and make a shocking discovery. One day, three years prior to the couples' arrival, the town's children killed all of the grown-ups at the apparent behest of a demon simply dubbed "He Who Walks Behind the Rows." Based on a short story from horror scribe Stephen King's "Night Shift" collection, this film spawned a slew of bloody sequels.

Creepshow 2: This sequel to the popular EC Comics parody once again brings an anthology of Stephen King's tales to the screen. In "Old Chief Wood'nhead," a dime store Indian comes to life and exacts bloody retribution on those who murdered its owner; "The Raft" details four teenagers descent into terror as they are stranded in the middle of a lake patrolled by a carnivorous gelatin monster; "The Hitchhiker" tells the tale of a woman's fateful date with destiny after she runs down a night-time hitcher. As in the first film, all three tales are interconnected by "the Creep," an undead host with a penchant for maniacal cackling.

Quicksilver Highway: Featuring two tales from horror masters Stephen King and Clive Barker, Quicksilver Highway was helmed by television director Mick Garris (The Stand). Christopher Lloyd stars as storyteller Aaron Quicksilver, who introduces the tales of terror and comments on their finish. The first, King's "Chattering Teeth," features a normal man terrorized by a psychotic hitchhiker as well as a pair of possessed false teeth. The second, Barker's "The Body Politic," finds a man frightened by the proposition that his hands are rebelling against him. ~ VideoUniverse.com
