The Short Films of David Lynch (2002)
unknown duration
Unrated
Starring Catherine Coulson
Directed by David Lynch
Six Men Getting Sick - Lynchs first film, a one minute movie, wherein human heads vomit, catch fire and the like. The Alphabet - a five minute film combining animation and live acting, while alphabet figures do bad things like crap and have sex, all the while making a woman throw up blood (Lynch is wacked). The Grandmother - more live action than animation this time, a boy grown a grandmother from a seed. The Amputee - a short black comedy starring the Log Lady from Twin Peaks, Catherine Coulson. The Cowboy and the Frenchman - its not Brokeback Mountain, its a slightly comedic short with a snail carrying Frenchman on a ranch full of cowboys. Man cowboys bore me to death in every form. And finally, Lumiere - a wacked out set of images that youll have to watch a few times to figure out, like naked women floating by in glass tubes. If Lynch is your cup of tea, this set of shorts is one fine tea-bag.

IMDB Plot Summary: Is it a nightmare or an actual view of a post-apocalyptic world? Set in an industrial town in which giant machines are constantly working, spewing smoke, and making noise that is inescapable, Henry Spencer lives in a building that, like all the others, appears to be abandoned. The lights flicker on and off, he has bowls of water in his dresser drawers, and for his only diversion he watches and listens to the Lady in the Radiator sing about finding happiness in heaven. Henry has a girlfriend, Mary X, who has frequent spastic fits. Mary gives birth to Henry's child, a frightening looking mutant, which leads to the injection of all sorts of sexual imagery into the depressive and chaotic mix.
