 ABCs of Death 2 (2014)Review:

It is always difficult to judge compilations of shorts, especially one that contains 26 short movies, because of the diversity and quality difference between them. I guess, in such few lines, I can only compare this second opus to the first one. In my opinion, ABCs of Death 2 is much weaker than the first movie in every aspect but one short – namely the last one – letter Z, which is probably one of the best horror shorts I’ve ever seen.

As for the rest, very few shorts makes it worthwhile to watch this 2-hour long compilation (shorts M, O, Q and S in my opinion). Aside from that, there are a couple of really weird ones (D, G, T. Y) that will entertain the curious and the bored, as well as a couple of decently funny ones (E, P). The rest (much more than half!!) sinned by their lack of originality and surprise. Maybe we are spoiled children used to seeing novelty all the time – but here I felt bored and willing to stop watching after most shorts.

Even though death is the theme, not all the shorts are horror, and only half of them really are. But this not the problem – a dramatic lack of excitement is what emanate from that second chapter.
