Exactly what NBC had in mind for their reboot of THE MUNSTERS has been the topic of speculation for a while now but that wondering can now turn to happiness, or not.
The reboot of the classic "fish out of water" comedy is going to take a turn for the serious. Renamed MOCKINGBIRD LANE Herman and the family will find fitting in not quite the laughing matter it was back in the day.
What is being described as a "visually spectacular hour long drama" MOCKINGBIRD LANE will goes as follows:
The madness begins when a baby bear
attacks a scouting trip, only it turns out that this "bear" is actually
Eddie transformed into a werewolf. Eddie is unaware of his metamorphosis
and it forces the family to move in order to protect the family secret.
The coming of age story gets weirder as he fights against his family
when he learns of a shocker: they're a family of flesh-eaters!
Production was slated to begin this month but purported casting issues has pushed that start back till early summer. Apparently those issues are beginning to get resolved as it was announced that Eddie Izzard is about to sign on to play Grandpa, an interesting choice.
What do you think of a serious take on THE MUNSTERS? I'm intrigued by the prospect. With production possibly only a few months away I am going to speculate that much more news and casting is in our future.
