Insane Clown Posse visits a "Dark Carnival"

"The Wraith," one of six major figures in the ICP "Dark Carnival" story.
Clowns are scary.  Insane clowns are scarier.  And when there's a whole posse of them, an "Insane Clown Posse," if you will, then forget about it.  I don't even want to know what happens when they get their own television series.

According to Fangoria (article here), Insane Clown Posse, the rap band that's been wearing clown facepaint since 1992, is already working on a series of television shows called "Dark Carnival."  Each episode of the series will be based on a song from their discography.

Roy Knyrim, the man behind the project, gives an idea of what to expect: "The first [one] I directed is called ‘Mad Professor,’ and stars Greg McDonald. It’s basically about a serial killer, who’s taking a body part from each of his victims and using them to build a ‘Frankenstein monster.’ The father of one of the victims is tracking this guy, and he catches up with the killer, and in the end there is a confrontation between the three of them."

The title comes from a mythos that began with their first album, Carnival of Carnage.  A combination of Tarot cards, carnival imagery, and the supernatural, "Dark Carnival" mythology has been the basis for every record released by the group.

One wonders if seeing the resurgence of gritty horror and the success of horror anthologies has convinced ICP and friends that now is the time.  Regardless, here's yet another project to wet our collective whistle.
