Hess and Morghen Together Again

I never thought I’d see this billing again: David Hess, best known for his roles in Pasquale Festa Campanile’s HITCH HIKE and Wes Craven’s notorious LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, is also know for his brutal role as Alex (a nod to ultraviolent Alex DeLarge?) the itinerant who, with some cohorts, terrorize a group of people in Ruggero Deodato’s THE HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK in 1981 (which also happened to be in the same house that doubled as the killer’s home in Dario Argento’s TENEBRE.)  Also in HOUSE is the one and only Giovanni Lombardo Radice, better known as John Morghen, who appeared in Michele Soavi’s STAGE FRIGHT, THE CHURCH, and THE DEVIL’S DAUGHTER, and also in Lucio Fulci’s THE GATES OF HELL and Antonio Margheriti’s CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE.  Now, shooting is scheduled to begin in May 2008 with Hess and Morghen in Welsh director Andrew Jones’s THE BEAUTFIUL OUTSIDERS, which is not so much a horror film per se as a film about violent abuse and drug addiction (think Jerry Schatzberg’s THE PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK on overdrive).  Jones, who also directed TEENAGE WASTELAND and THE FERAL GENERATION and is also planning a remake of Abel Ferrara’s THE DRILLER KILLER, is also looking to cast Doug Bradley of HELLRAISER fame.   Look for a late 2008 release date.
