Driller Killer to Kill Again

80's horror fans remember Driller Killer, and more often than not, it is because of this awesome gore snapshot.  It was on my wall as a teenager along with the early Fangoria foldout posters (like a melting head from The Devil's Rain) and a hundred other Friday newspaper horror movie cutouts.  Driller Killer is an early direct by world reknown director Abel Ferrara, who also did one of the coolest flicks ever, King of New York.  Word comes from Fangoria that Driller Killer is getting remade.  Couldn't hurt.  It was a sick ass concept and just gives you chills if you try to empathize what that would be like if it happened to you...

Fango reports:  Set up at the UK-based production companies Masterplan Films Ltd. and Urban Way Productions, THE DRILLER KILLER redux is being budgeted at $4 million, with plans to relocate the action from the U.S. to Britain. Local filmmaker Andrew Jones will direct from his own script, described as “being very different [from] the original.” Casting is set to begin this February, with principal photography expected to kick off in April.

No trailers easily found online for Driller Killer, but there was one pretty good video montage put together on it - CLICK HERE to check it out.
